Data Visualisation Programmer

The British Antarctic Survey (BAS), part of the Natural Environment Research Council, aims to undertake a world-class programme of scientific research, and to sustain for the UK an active and influential regional presence and a leadership role in Antarctic affairs. We are currently seeking a key team member to develop our ability to visualise and access our science data. BAS has recently gained a leading position in developing novel web and map based systems for accessing and visualising this scientific data. We require a key team member to develop these activities and to ensure their continued success. Aspects of the work will include object oriented and web application programming and liaison with the scientists and data managers.

Qualifications: You should have a degree or equivalent in a numerate subject area and programming experience.

Duration: 50 weeks

Salary: £22,670-£27.990

This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week.
In addition to this you will be entitled to paid leave at the rate of 30 days per annum. The post is a temporary appointment for 50 weeks. We offer a generous benefits package including a fixed benefit salary pension scheme, free car parking, flexible working hours and 30 days annual leave.
