African Reinsurance Corporation (AFRICA RE) is established to promote the development of insurance and reinsurance industry in Africa, promoting the growth of national, subregional and regional underwriting standards and to maintain and support for African economic development.

Africa Re is recruiting for several key positions in Nigeria.

The candidates are expected to be nationals of the Member States and have the necessary skills to apply and be considered.

Accounting Assistant - West Africa Regional Office, Lagos

Provide accounting technical support to the Deputy Director Finance & Accounts (ADFA) and the team take over, as well as assistance and support to ADFAs designated in his absence.

Job Responsibilities

Leadership in retail inspection, handling, processing and confirmation of the technical statements, credit control and management of the funds due from / to the sellers and brokers, to maintain proper records and files on assigned agents and sellers;
Supervision of accounting staff in the evaluation, monitoring, processing and confirmation of the statements received from brokers and sellers technicians - including premium locks and slips, together with the corresponding transactions (commissions, brokerage, commission income, etc.), magazines ( especially quarrerly) accounts, the excess of loss premium - and handling the same responsibilities for Sellers
Analysis and monitoring of the reinsurance company debtors' book of accuracy and collectibles in general and the management of credit control function to the balances are collected in their agreed terms. Monitoring the maintenance of the balance in the account of reinsurance technical staff and leading the process of collecting the Underwriters and the ADFA
Assisting the technical team and ADFA in managing relationships with vendors and brokers, in particular the rapid delivery of statements and collection of balances. All other functions that could be influenced by management
Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines, with at least 10 years after qualification experience or relevant professional qualification or master full, plus 6 years post-qualification relevant work experience
Membership of relevant professional and bilingual (English / French) would be an advantage
English speaking interpreter / translator - Head Office

Job Responsibilities

Provide interpreting services from French to English during statutory meetings and request for partners or affiliated organizations;
Corporate documents translated from French into English;
Performs all other duties that may be assigned.
Requirements

Bachelor of languages with at least 10 years after qualification experience or relevant professional qualification or full Masters in translation and interpretation 6 more years of relevant experience;
Membership of relevant professional bodies would be an advantage;
Be computer literate.
Applicants must:

Nationals of Member States of the Re-Africa;
At least 30 years and up to 40 years;
Senior Accounting Clerk. Regional Office for West Africa, Lagos

To assist in the maintenance, preparation and ensure proper enforcement of accounting and consolidated financial statements.

Job Responsibilities

Documentation of receipts and payments in currencies other than the Naira and processing Cash Books.
Updating the accounts of foreign investment.
Bank reconciliation
Responding to questions about receipts or payments.
Weekly Cash / bank balances report Liquidity Report, Inter-office holding, etc.
All other tasks can be deployed by the regional office of directors from time to time.
Job Requirement

3 papers on "A" level in relevant subject or equivalent plus 5 years of relevant professional experience
Membership of relevant professional and bilingual (English / French) would be an advantage
Applicants must:

At least 25 and not more than 40 years;
