World Bank seeks a Medical Officer as a consultant on local short term appointment part timee (6 months, renewable)
Responsibilities
The medical Oficer will advise World Bank staff and dependents on health care issues.
The Medical Officerr will be providing recommendation for World Bank country offices in the region on health related matters ( such as occupational health)
suppervise non-emergency evacuations out of the country
facilitate medical care for staff or dependents suffering from severe chronic illness
enhance local and regional health care provider network.
Note: This is an advisory position, the Medical Officer cannot provide clinical care to World Bank Staff and dependents.
Qualification
MBChB qualification and registration with Health Profession’s Council of South Africa as a mediacal Practioner.
At least 5 years experience in Internal Medicine, more specifically in infectious diseases. Clinical activity should be maintained during time not dedicated to the World Bank.
Professional trainnig or work experience in multiple countries or in a multidisciplinary setting. Overseas work experience is a plus.
Past experience working with assistance companies or with ex-pat clients would be a plus. Occupational Health experience is a plus.
Fluency in both Frecnch and English indispensable.
Teamwork expereince and cultural sensitivity are critical. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently with cleints in multiple locations.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, plus proficiency in written and spoken English.
Willingness to travel
